Tutorial: Farscape
Jan. 2nd, 2013 12:42 pmIt`s a new year, it`s my first post in 2013.
Recently I`ve had some *fun* with a few Farscape caps. I didn`t want to loose the settings = (a simple) coloring tutorial
These caps I`ve done for a Farscape graphic entry, but it is not complete, yet.

Done with PaintShopPro9, translatable
That`s the original picture. It`s an awesome scene, but I hate the blue

1. copy base - layer screen 100%
2. new color balance layer - normal 100%
- midtone 100 / 2 / -100
- shadow -25 / -4 / -33
- highlights -27 / -7 / -33
3. copy all layer, paste as new layer - layer soft light 100%
4. new levels layer - normal 100%
- RGB input 0 / 0,98 / 255
- RGB output 44 / 255
- GREEN input 0 / 0,83 / 240
- GREEN output 0 / 235
- BLUE input 0 / 0,86 / 255
- BLUE output 0 / 255
5. new channel mixer layer - normal 100%
- RED 100 / -15 / 6
- GREEN -6 / 100 / 3
- BLUE 8 / -12 / 114
6. copy all layer, past as new layer - soft light 100%
that`s the general coloring of the picture
EXTRA STEPS
I`ve added a new rasterlayer, soft light 50%, and used a round brush with a blue color on his eyes. This made the blue of his eyes come out some more.
On top of all layer I`ve added a grainy texture as a new layer, set to screen 100%
merge all - done

INFO
It`s the end of the world as we know it
A new year, a new game
I bit the bullet, and created a Tumblr account
kahesha aka svala@tumblr
I couldn´t use "Svala" because the name is already taken at Tumblr
I`m still trying to figure out how tumblr works
(this time, last year, I didn´t even know what tumblr is)
Don´t worry, I`m not gonna spam the comm with each and every tumblr graphic.
Maybe I`ll post a round-up each month, maybe not
